LIPSTICK ALLEY BEAUTY BREAKDOWN WITH CAPPIE PONDEXTER
Author: Administrator

Cappie Pondexter was recently featured on lipstickalley.com to discuss her beauty secrets and some of her favorite products. Find her beauty breakdown interview below:

“Skincare is important to me, I sweat a lot on the court and it dries my skin. So having a good regimen is critical.”

“For my sensitive face, its Darphin’s Intral Cleansing Milk, Toner, and Redness Relief.

“I love Laura Mercier Creme Brulee Souffle Body Creme. The vanilla scent smells amazing.”

“I’m not too out there with makeup, a simple tinted moisturizer, eyeliner, and tinted lipglass work for me.” Her favorites: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Walnut, MAC Liquid Eyeliner in Black, and MAC Tinted Lipglass in Mad Cap.”

“I feel naked when my nails aren’t polished, I love bright colors. Two shades one from O.P.I. and the other is from Essie are my absolute favorites. Need Sunglasses (O.P.I.) and Aruba Blue (Essie).”

“My hair can understandably be a hot mess on the court, but I usually keep it together in my daily life”

“I wear extensions during the game season, they are easier to maintain for me. My hair underneath is strong and healthy, thanks to my hair stylist, Edris Nichols.”

“Between visits to her, I maintain my hair with Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Herbal Shampoo and Rosemary Mint Purifying Conditioner.”

“I love to experiment with my look, I have been blond, had braids, worn a turban, half shaved mohawk, and super short “halle berry” cut. Life is meant to be lived, I rock my hair in the style I want to, not how others think it should look.”

This photo shoot and interview were fun and interesting. I was able to speak on tattoos …individualism, factors behind my choices to have tattoos.

Also, 4Season Style Management styled me for the photoshoot.

Check it out in my gallery Cap n Zines !! You can buy the issue from newsstands now..

I know what you’re thinking: “What can WNBA players teach me about business?”

Thoughts are running through your head about the league suffering from low attendance, TV viewership and sponsorships. Not to mention you’ve heard countless rumors about the WNBA being a drain on the NBA’s resources.

Let me stop you right there. Those thoughts are far from reality.

The truth is that during the WNBA’s 15th season it experienced an increase in attendance and TV viewership, and the league landed a marquee sponsorship with Boost Mobile. As for resources, several WNBA owners have said that despite the economic downturn their teams are on pace to turn a profit within the next several seasons.

So, what can WNBA players teach you about business? A lot.

It’s a little-known fact that more than 90% of WNBA players are college graduates. For many reasons the concept of “one and done” doesn’t exist in the WNBA. As a result the league is full of players who are not only skilled on the court, but also in the classroom.

WNBA players are not going to college to bide their time until they are eligible for the pros. They’re going to college because they know that life on the basketball court won’t last forever.

Recently, I caught up with four WNBA players (Cappie Pondexter, Tammy Sutton-Brown, Essence Carson, and Asjha Jones) who are all “business” on and off the court. (Read more).

The “It” List: 6 Vixens Stepping Into The Spotlight
Author: Administrator

What really defines an “It” girl? Looks? Style? Personality? All of the above for sure, but the true characteristic of an “It” girl is her undeniable hustle. Either on the court, in the booth or on the silver screen, she is relentless for her shot at the spotlight. It’s only right that we introduce (or re-introduce) you to the new slew of gorgeous, fashion-forward Vixens that we are slightly obsessed with.

Here’s who we’ll be keeping our eyes on this year. We recommend you do the same.

While NBA players have nothing better to do during a lockout, Cappie Pondexter has been playing ball with the New York Liberty all summer. And three days after it was over, she decided to go under the needle. Just recently, we’ve shown you new ink from Kevin Durant, Matt Barnes and Jeff Teague. Now, thanks to Twitter, we have the latest from the girl who recently gave Sebastian Telfair buckets. Check it out in all its glory after the jump.

EUROPEAN GLITZ …
Author: Administrator

Hey guys,
Welcome to another edition of B-Girl Blog.  This entry is designed to give you a peak at the cutting edge fashions i’ve come across while here in Europe playing for Russian basketball powerhouse, UMMC Ekaterinburg.  As most of you know, I have a serious knack and love for Fashion, so even though i do what i do on the court (and i does it well…) A Girl always makes time to accessorize!
Now on to the goodies!!!  Below, I’ve assembled some great looks for this season that will most certainly make a wave… Well at least in my closet….

these shoes are absolutely to die for… Designed by Alexander McQueen… I’m not big on rocking crazy heels in the winter but you definitely need a statement shoe for fall and this would be my 1st choice.
A leather jacket is a must have for the fall/winter. This is definitely great for layering, a fabulous choice for this season, designed by: Bailman.
As previously mentioned, I’m not too big on heels this season but a killer “flat” boot will go along way for you and your tutsies this season. Designed by: Lobu
During the Fall/Winter, I’m a big fan of the oversized Cardigan. This particular grey is a perfect color for the season.
Let me go on the record and state that I am a big fan of Marc Jacobs pieces; and this particular one is my season favorite. Again with the oversized Cardigan, however pay attention to the colorway and how playful this piece is, which I love when I’m wearing a solid color (i.e. Black). Designed by: Marc Jacob.
Faux fur is a must have piece. Period… It can be taken in so many directions. Whether you decide to layer it, dress it up or down… Its trendy any way you spin it
No Pressure! But the military look this season is an absolute must!
Designed by: Freecity and by far one of my favorite military jackets in the market.
And our last piece in this entry has to be my favorite go to pants since the trend of harem has arrived in the fashion world. It’s comfy an has so much range to play in these days.
Remember, fashion is an expression of who you are… Never let a trend make or break you!
Yours Truly…

NYC FASHION WEEK FABNESS…RUSSIA HERE I COME! by Cappie Pondexter

Boys ands Girls!

Its been a few weeks and I’ve missed you all indeed. I’ve been resting my body and slowing things down in preparation for my off- season duties in Russia, which have now began.  Leaving the states is always bitter-sweet, but the good news is that I’ll be right here live and direct with updates from Russia and everything from their fashion to their culture and much more.

Anyhoo, a few weeks back I mentioned that I would do a recap on my first ever Mercedes Benz Fashion week. Well here its is… Fashionably late, but here nonetheless.

For starters, It was a week of PURE madness… Rushing from show to show was an experience in itself! From Lincoln Center, to Elle Magazine’s Style 360 shows, plus fittings, photo shoots and interviews…. By the end of the week I was happy to say that 4 Seasons Style Management had survived its first fashion week!

Now… With this said, I present to you “Cappie’s top five trends” worth paying attention to.

Tribal Patterns, Florals and Lace dresses…. Vivienne Tam’s collection was responsible for this first trend. The cotton lace dresses and patchwork uttered relaxation. The runway was filled with tribal patterns, florals and lace dresses. This was a STRONG intro to the rest of the week.

Trenches, flattering cropped cargo pants and asymmetrical dresses in grey, charcoal and military green along towering platform peep-toe booties. My favorite trend about this collection was that it could easily be taken from the runway to the street with little to no adjustments.

Indashio’s show at Style 360 gave us colors, prints, metallics, and Amber Rose…Along with the best looking male models in Mercedes Benz fashion week!

Another one of my favorite shows was that of former Project Runway contestant, Althea Harper, who previewed her collection at one of my favorite spots in NYC; The Red Bull Space downtown. In addition to a great show, Ms. Harper presented me with one of her beautiful designs to wear to the show. It was an honor, plus I must say I looked pretty fly. The collection was chic and I loved the use of diagonals to elongate the body. This presentation was 4 Season style Management approved!

Ohh yes! Designer MinnaK was FABULOUS. Her show was held at the Norwood and the designs were hot…. She also made a dress especially for me, which I wore to the Ivana Helsinki show (see below pictured with Richie Rich)

Last but not least, was one of 4 Seasons favorites; designer Ivana Helsinki, whom we actually used in the launch of our firm back in August. The collection was titled “Where The F*ck is My Sailor?” and as you probably guessed, it was nautical inspired. All in all it was a great show, with great friends and great fashions!

So there you have it, Fashion Week 2010 in my own words.
Until next time…
xoxo
Cappie
